Total dose: 74 grey or 7400 rads; 200 rads/day, 6 beam
positions, approx 6-9 seconds using aVarian 2300 linear accelerator. Radiation
also covers descending urethra, a known site for recurrance. Side xraybeams
provide 40% of energy through the hips. Following radiation treatment there
is no more ejaculate due to seminal vesicle radiation which is discontinued
after the 25th day. Recent testosterone suppressor studies suggest some
increase in PSA free % with continuation beyond the 4 months. There is an
increased risk in impotence. I did not choose to continue.
