FIRST POST RADIATION REVEIW
December 9, 1997
- 3 months after the radiations treatments ended, Testosterone and PSA blood check.
Testosterone: 188
(261 is usual minimum, last test during hormone suppression was less than 20.
PSA: 0.0 (This is good!!)
Though the doctor says it may rise above 0.0 routinely, it's the exponential rises that are not good.
- DRE (digital rectal exam or finger check) prostate felt less assymetrical.
- Other General Physical Conditions
Erections are not as easily obtained and take slowness and steady interest on the my wifes part, but I am having one monthly which sustains intercourse.
My legs/hips still tire easily. If I walk the mile to the train in the morning I can feel the stiffness and hence tiredness most of that day in the hip pelvis region.
Going for walks, lifting, etc. are all fairly normal.
Other side effects are gone, groin sun-burn, hot flashes largely, drinking is fine, sleep is normal.
- Feelings
This has been an intense year in many other ways so I find it difficult to separate causes. I am not as smiley as I am known to be, but still have my old playful style and am not really feeling different about life except that I like living and want to use my time reasonably well. I have not changed behaviors alot, just make sure I do what I would like to get done, hence this web site.
So this is all a good prognosis. I thank Kaiser and Stanford for the work.
