If he'd lived in my time
prob'ly gone to the U.
Made a good high-tech boy
Certainly, thru and thru.

Prob'ly got on the big city bandwagon
roaring round Boston 128
Or Silicon Valley
Folks would have said he'd had a good fate.

As it was though
he's here in Wolfeboro, NH
Hewn by an earlier time
and far as I can see
he's grown exceedingly fine.

A keen mind set on philosophical
shoulders, good common sense
And an interest in people and friends
have stood him in good sted hence.

With a backhoe, loader and trucks
he earns his daily adequate bucks,
But finds more interest in folks
than in stock market analyst quotes.
