A Fleeting Oneness in the Dunes
Wind blowing, steady,
Grains drifting, filling, ripples,
A sting on the face,rocks,cliffs.
Stooping down behind dunes into a gully
The quietness descends, peace without ends.
Though scarce outside all is as before
Blowing steady, the drift of sand.
Even with friends you are alone,
This feeling behind the eye of...
Air...touching...texture, not lonely,
A fleeting oneness with time and nature
Toss a rock into such a lake and
The dent fills in seconds,
Reflections of lives passed
Whose ripples soon join others.
Not dissappeared this lifes stone.
Wind and rock merging, contouring;
Shadows and drifts around itself,
A beauty of oneness unexptected.
How jagged we feel in our surroundings at times,
Never imagining this harmony
A result of natural forces washing sands over
The spot where we are, and blending us in.
Out of the wind a warmth, sheltered
Standing, even inches, a chill
of this late fall presence at lands edge
Brings a shiver, where friends close
Matter once more, hair blown footfalls
Carward and keys, once again the mechanical
Rending of mind cloth from the gully
Falling fast behind in the mirror
As we speed up the hill from the creek crossing
And away from the sea.
